Objectives

Conservation

• Conversation and management of natural fisheries resources and public waters.
• Enforcement of fisheries enactment under fisheries ordinance 1961 7 Rules 1965.
• Lease of fishing rights, conservation, management & promotion of fisheries in water areas i.e rivers, canals & barrages pond areas. 
• Issuance of provincial angling license for sports fishing.
• Survey and collection of data on fisheries resources.

Extension

• Extension and development of fisheries resources in private & Govt. Sector.
• Provision of advisory services on modern techniques to fish farmers and fishermen community.
• Production of fish seed at hatcheries & nurseries.
• Stocking of fish seed in private fish farms & public waters.
• Training through open training schools for awareness in fisheries.
• Aquaculture development activities.
• Awareness lectures regarding fish production 7 consumption in educational institutes.

Extension Services

Provision of technical guidance to the farmers to make best use of their useless lands by converting it into fish farms and supply of quality fish seed to farmers is the main function of department in order to meet protein deficiency in the country.

Fish farming

The interest of the people in F/Farming is increasing day by day in District.As a result 162 fish farms have established with area of 362 Acres.
