Introduction

Housing & physical planning (h&pp) was established under the administrative control of housing & physical planning department during 1973, h&pp was devolved under plgo,2001 with  directorate general and 34 nucleus offices (do h&tp) at district  level. h&pp Punjab was revamped as “Punjab housing & town  planning agency (Phata)” under the Phata ordinance, 2002.the said agency has been effectuated w.e.f.01.04.2004 with the objective of rejuvenating the housing sector in general and provision of shelter to shelter-less low income  groups in Punjab at present Phata functionary offices comprising 6-no of regional offices  head by 17-no of sub region offices and 15-no of district housing committees headed by the deputy director assists by housing management officer.

Function of PHATA

Identify state and other lands for developing low income and low cost housing schemes.

• Provide technical assistance to the district governments and tehsil municipal administration.
• Facilitate public and private partnership or ventures in housing Formulate provincial land use policy, plan and prepare regional development plans for an integrated, coordinated and systematic planning.
• Implement parameters of the national housing policy and systematic planning.
• Provide affordable, cost efficient housing schemes especially for the low income group and facilities out of the revolving fund.
• Prepare guidelines, long terms and short term plans for implementation of the low cost housing schemes and programs in Punjab.
• Facilitate land availability through various innovative measures; develop a comprehensive land information system (land bank) to cater for the planning and development requirement for a period five to ten years (forward planning).
• Assist provincial agencies such a worker welfare board and government servants housing schemes. Etc. in the areas of low cost housing. Perform such other functions as may be assigned to the agency from time to time by the provincial government district government or as the case may be ,the tehsil municipal administration.

  • To deal the transfer of plots/ properties  under the jurisdictions of PHATA Sub  Region Rahimyarkhan
• Development Section
  • Deputy Director Assistant Director & Sub Engineer are responsible for execution development work

Achievement

To facilitate the general public regarding transfer of plots/properties, approval of building plan etc.

• The supervision of existing housing schemes under the jurisdiction of PHATA Sub Region Rahimyarkhan.
• To achieve the recovery target fixed by the PHATA Headquarter Lahore.
• Total expenditure on 07-Nos Housing scheme = RS 99.788 Million.
• Recovery up to March 2024 = Rs 553.132 Million.
• Recovery for the financial year 22&23 = Rs 20.637 Million.
• Recovery for the current financial year up to march 2024 = 19.537 Million.
• The 05-Nos sites have been  Approved in the district housing committee meeting held 19-03-2024 under the chairmanship of DC RYKhan for construction of 100 thousand affordable houses for low income  group under Chief Minister Program.
